Why people call
Your stuff, not the building
Clothes, furniture, and electronics, up to the limit you choose and the sublimits in the form.
Your liability
If someone is hurt and says it was your fault, or if you damage the unit, liability coverage is the part landlords often require.
A lease requirement
Many Palm Bay leases ask for proof of renters insurance. We can tell you what the carrier needs for that proof.
What people misunderstand
The landlord insures the structure. If a fire destroys your couch, the landlord’s policy does not buy you a new couch. Flood and some kinds of water are often outside a basic renters policy too. Ask if you want those quoted, and do not assume they are included.
Jewelry, bikes, and electronics can have special limits inside the policy. A cheap premium with a low contents limit is a poor fit if you own more than that. We ask what you would actually replace.
Call or text (321) 429-1182. The address and who lives there are enough to start.
A free quote is not a policy. Nothing on this page is a binder of coverage.
Questions people ask
Does my landlord’s insurance cover my belongings?
No. The landlord’s policy is for the building and the landlord’s liability. Your furniture, clothes, and electronics need your own renters policy.
My lease requires insurance. What do they want?
Usually a liability limit and proof that the policy is in force at that address. Some leases ask to be listed as interested party. Bring the lease paragraph. We will not promise a wording the carrier will not add.
Are my roommates covered?
Only if they are named on the policy or the form covers them. A roommate’s property is often not covered by your policy. Tell us who lives there so we do not leave someone off.
Does renters insurance cover flood?
A standard renters policy typically does not cover flood. Storm surge and rising water need a separate flood contents policy if you want that protection. We will not call wind coverage the same thing as flood.
Is jewelry fully covered?
Usually not. Policies set a special limit for theft of jewelry, often much lower than a ring’s price. A scheduled floater is how people insure a specific item. We will say if you need one. We do not guess the value.
I work from home. Does that matter?
If clients visit or you keep business stock in the apartment, a renters policy may exclude it. Tell us. Business property can need a different form.
Will it pay if I have to move out after a fire?
Many renters policies include additional living expense if a covered loss makes the unit unlivable. It has a limit and a time cap. It does not pay because the landlord ended the lease. We show the limit on the quote.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Comparing renters policies with this office is free.
