Why people call

  • Extra liability

It responds after the underlying policy’s liability limit is used up, and only for claims the umbrella agrees to follow.

  • The base policies have to match

Umbrella carriers require minimum auto and home liability limits. If yours are lower, we quote the increase first.

  • Listed exposures

A rental house, a boat, or a young driver may need to be on the application. Leaving one off can leave a gap.

What an umbrella does

If a car wreck or an injury at your house costs more than the liability limit on that policy, the umbrella can pay above that limit, up to its own limit, when the claim is covered. It is not a maintenance policy, it is not health insurance, and it is not a way to get a water claim paid. Business liability belongs on a business policy. A personal umbrella is for personal life.

Carriers will not issue the umbrella until the auto and home limits underneath meet their minimum. We quote those changes in the same conversation so you see the real price, not a standalone umbrella that cannot be bound.

Call or text (321) 429-1182. Tell us about the house, the cars, any boats, and any property you rent to others.

A free quote is not a policy. Nothing on this page is a binder of coverage.

Questions people ask

Does an umbrella replace my auto and home insurance?

No. It sits on top of them. If you cancel the underlying policy, the umbrella can be void for that exposure. Keep the required limits in force.

How much umbrella do people buy?

Often one million dollars to start, sometimes more if you have a pool, a boat, teenage drivers, or rental property. We do not tell you that you must buy a certain amount. We show what the carrier will offer.

Why did the auto limits have to go up?

The umbrella carrier requires underlying liability of a set amount, often higher than Florida’s minimum auto limits. Without that, there is a gap between the auto policy and the umbrella, and the gap is yours to pay. We quote the underlying change so you can see it.

Does it cover my rental house?

Only if the rental is listed and the landlord policy underneath meets the umbrella’s rules. A home you live in and a home you rent out are both worth mentioning. We will not assume the umbrella follows a property you hid.

Does it cover a boat?

Sometimes, if the boat is scheduled and the boat policy has the required liability limit. Some boats are excluded. Tell us the length. We will not promise the umbrella follows you onto the water.

Is a business lawsuit covered?

No. A personal umbrella is not general liability for your company. If you have a business, quote that policy on its own. Mixing them is how a claim gets denied.

Does an umbrella pay for flood damage to my house?

No. Flood is a property loss. An umbrella is liability protection when you are responsible for someone else’s injury or damage. They solve different problems.

Is the quote free?

Yes. We quote the umbrella and any required change to the policies underneath. You choose what to buy.
